I have a fine arts background combined with plenty of computer experience on both Mac and Windows platforms. The software I primarily use are Painter, Photoshop and DeBabelizer. With these three applications I have precise control over color palette, bit-depth, resolution and format.

Provide website design and graphic services on a subcontracting basis, primarily for front-end design in Internet and intranet development projects. Work both independently and as part of a team, to develop content, navigation, GUI and templates for web sites, to maintain pages, resolve technical problems, and educate clients as needed to improve understanding of and compliance with design standards. Understand, communicate and apply the advantages of usability and accessibility principles in website design, by developing usability test plans to evaluate site strengths and weaknesses, conducting tests, analyzing results and implementing recommendations. For a large public utility company, provided corporate intranet web–development services and training to client’s employees on an as–needed, individualized basis. Facilitated project analysis for website and software redesigns, based on training and experience with GUI design and usability engineering principles. Developed and wrote technical documentation, such as company intranet template guide, on–line software data entry procedures, revisions to existing on–line documentation, and additional projects. Worked with software developers and end users to clarify requirements and to communicate user expectations and development constraints. Produced succinct, well–organized final documentation in a timely manner.

Media Designer
Center for Multimedia, Bellevue, Washington; Full Time, 4/97 - 5/98
Designed, illustrated and produced graphic components for websites, presentations and interactive CD–ROM applications. Built and maintained websites for company web presence and client sites. Provided one–on–one instruction in HTML and Internet skills, as well as Photoshop and PageMaker, as needed for staff and clients. Acted as back–up production staff for work in Macromedia Director.

Technical Support Specialist, PageMill & SiteMill
Adobe Systems, Seattle, Washington; Full Time, 5/96 - 4/18/97
As member of Product Group team for PageMill and SiteMill, provided advanced technical expertise for problems encountered by users of Adobe PageMill and SiteMill, using knowledge of current HTML specifications, on–line technical database, and testing and troubleshooting skills. As primary on–line support representative for both products, replied to e–mail received via Adobe’s website. Researched and documented solutions to new issues in database. Achievements include: researched and wrote supplemental CD–ROM resources for advanced HTML use with PageMill 2.0; documented FTP upload process using Dartmouth Fetch; involved in beta testing of new releases and development of new product training materials for outsourced support about HTML frames and tables.

Technical Support Specialist, PageMaker
Adobe Systems, Seattle, Washington; Full Time, 7/95 - 4/96
As a Known Issues technician, offered telephone support for problems encountered by users of Adobe PageMaker on major software platforms. Screened calls for known problems with product and user equipment; forwarded calls as appropriate to research–level Product Group technicians. Moved to Product Group in 9/95, taking in–depth responsibility for new customer issues and joining a focus group to develop documentation of technical issues for specific parts of the software.
